Getting started

There is no public sign-up for studios. Your organization is set up with GameGrid, and your first Owner receives an invitation to sign in.

How a studio gets an account

1. Talk to us. Tell us about your game and what you need from hosting. Contact us.

2. We set up your organization. Once we have agreed terms, GameGrid creates your organization and sends an invitation to the person who will be its first Owner.

3. Accept the invitation. The invitation link is valid for 7 days. Opening it lets you choose a password (or keep the one you already have, if you are already a member of another organization) and accept.

4. Sign in to the studio app and start setting up.

Your first steps

  • Invite your team. Owners and Admins invite members by email and choose each person's role. An Admin cannot invite an Owner. See roles.
  • Secure the organization. Turn on multi-factor authentication for yourself, require it for everyone, or connect your own identity provider for single sign-on.
  • Add hardware. Rent a host from GameGrid or onboard a machine of your own. See Hosting and hardware.
  • Describe your game. Create a game definition and add a build. See Games, builds and releases.
  • Create a group and deploy. Choose the game, the hosts and a naming pattern, then deploy servers in bulk. See Fleets.
  • Automate. Issue an API key with only the scopes your tooling needs. See Studio API and API keys.

Other ways members join

  • Single sign-on. When your organization has verified an email domain and connected its identity provider, people from that domain can be created on their first sign-in with a default role. Identity-provider groups can map to the Admin, Operator, Read-Only and Billing roles; the Owner role is never assigned this way.
  • SCIM provisioning. Your identity provider can create, update and deactivate member accounts through SCIM 2.0.

Working with several organizations

One person can be a member of more than one organization. After signing in, they choose which organization to work in.
