Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to deploy a game server?

Most servers are online in 2 to 5 minutes. When you select a game and choose a plan, GameGrid automatically provisions your server, downloads the latest game files, applies default settings, and starts the server. You receive an email notification as soon as it is ready for players to connect.

Do I need any technical knowledge to run a server?

No. The GameGrid control panel is designed for all skill levels. You can start, stop, and restart your server with one click, manage settings through a visual form, install mods from the built-in mod manager, and monitor your server from the dashboard. No command-line or SSH access is required.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel from the Billing Dashboard at any time with no penalty. Your server remains active until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again after cancellation. You can re-subscribe at any time from the Plans page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. GameGrid never sees or stores your full card number. All payment processing is encrypted and PCI-compliant.

Do you offer refunds?

If you experience a service issue caused by the platform, contact billing@wdcgamegrid.com within 7 days to request a refund. For subscription renewals, you can request a refund within 72 hours of the renewal charge. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please include your account email and a brief description of the issue.

Is DDoS protection included?

Network-level DDoS mitigation is included on every GameGrid server through our infrastructure provider, at no extra cost. Protection is always on and requires no configuration. If you experience a traffic-based attack affecting your server, contact support and our team will investigate and assist.

How do backups work?

Every server includes daily automatic backups. You can also create manual backups at any time from the Backups tab in the control panel. Backups are stored off-site in secure object storage and can be restored with one click. You can configure how many daily backups to retain.

Can I switch between games on the same subscription?

Yes, within your plan group. From the server Administration page you can swap to any game in that group at no extra cost. The swap deletes the current server files and provisions the new game fresh, so create a backup first if you want to keep a world. Minecraft has five separate server types (Vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge) rather than a live toggle - to move an existing world from one type to another, create a new server of that type and copy the world across with the File Manager.

Do you offer a referral or affiliate program?

Yes. We offer two programs: a Customer Referral Program that earns you 10% of everything your referrals spend as account credit (never expires, no earnings cap) and a separate Affiliate Program that pays 10% recurring commission. Share your unique referral link from your dashboard. See our Affiliates page for the affiliate program details.

What regions are available?

We currently offer server deployment in three US regions: East, Central, and West. Select the region closest to the majority of your players for the lowest latency. All regions offer the same features and performance. You can check ping to each region from the server creation wizard before deploying.

Can I get help if something goes wrong?

Yes. You can open a support ticket from your dashboard at any time. When you open a ticket you choose a priority, and support works to a target response time for each - 1 hour for urgent outages, 4 hours for a server that is down, 24 hours for standard issues, and 72 hours for general questions - tracked around the clock. We also maintain a knowledge base with guides on server setup, mod installation, troubleshooting, and platform features.

Can I use my existing world or save file?

Yes. You can upload an existing world or save file through the File Manager in the control panel. For Minecraft, place your world folder in the server directory and update the level-name setting. For Palworld, copy your save files into the server save directory. Our knowledge base has step-by-step guides for each game.
