DayZ Server Not Showing in the Server Browser or DZSA Launcher

Your DayZ server is running but players cannot find it. Check it is really Online, clear the browser filters, use the right query port, register it with DZSA, and join directly meanwhile.

First: Is It Actually Online?

Check the status bar at the top of your server page.

  • Starting: DayZ is still loading. A first start on a new map can take several minutes. Nothing will list it until it finishes.
  • Online: the server is answering Steam's queries. Carry on below.
  • Stopped or crashed: start it, and if it stops again see DayZ Common Issues.

Join Directly While You Investigate

Players never have to wait for the browser. In the DayZ Launcher, Servers > Direct Connect with the host IP and game port from the Connect card on the Overview tab does not depend on any server list.

If Direct Connect works, the server is fine and reachable. What remains is a listing problem, which usually fixes itself within minutes.

The In-Game and Launcher Browser

DayZ's community list is large and cached, and its filters hide a lot:

1. Search for a distinctive part of your server name rather than scrolling.

2. Clear filters for map, first person or third person, password, full servers, and modded servers.

3. Check the version filter: servers on a different game build are hidden or greyed out.

4. Refresh the list. A newly started server can take several minutes to appear.

Private servers with a password still appear, with a lock icon.

The Query Port Is What Gets You Listed

Server lists find DayZ servers through the Steam query port, not the game port. On GameGrid it is always your game port + 4, and the platform writes it into serverDZ.cfg (steamQueryPort) at every start. The Connect card shows the game port only, so add 4 yourself.

  • Do not change steamQueryPort by hand. It is reset at the next start anyway, and a wrong value while the server runs hides it.
  • Steam Favourites and third-party lists need the query port. A favourite added with the game port shows as not responding.

The DZSA Launcher

DZSA builds its own list from Steam's and caches results, so a new or changed server can take a while to appear.

1. Open DZSA's Server Check page.

2. Enter your host IP and query port (game port + 4) and run the check.

3. If it finds the server, it should appear in the launcher shortly after. Allow about 5 minutes before checking again: results are cached.

A server without mods shows an empty mod list in DZSA. That is expected.

Still Not Listed After 15 Minutes

If the server is Online, Direct Connect works, and neither the browser nor DZSA Server Check finds it after 15 minutes, open a support ticket with:

  • your server name and the time you checked;
  • the IP and ports you used;
  • a screenshot of the Server Check result.
