How to Connect to Your 7 Days to Die Server
Connect to your GameGrid 7DtD server using the address the panel gives you, or find it in the in-game server browser.
Finding Your Server Address
In the GameGrid dashboard, click "Manage" on your 7 Days to Die server card. The address is shown in the status bar at the top of the page, and again on the Overview tab under Connection Info.
Copy the "Server Address" row exactly as it appears - it is an IP address and a port together, for example 203.0.113.10:28100.
Your port is assigned by the platform out of its own range. It is not 26900, so the port always has to be included. Do not tell players to leave it off.
The "Game Port" row on the same card is the number half of that address, if you ever need it on its own.
Connecting via Direct Connect
Direct Connect is the most reliable way in, and the one to give your players.
1. Launch 7 Days to Die.
2. From the main menu, click "Play Game".
3. Click "Connect to Server".
4. Click "Direct Connect".
5. Paste the full Server Address, including the port.
6. Enter the server password if you set one in Settings.
7. Click "Connect".
Connecting via Server Browser
7 Days to Die has an in-game server browser that lists public servers. Your server appears there when Server Visibility is set to 2 (public) in Settings.
1. Launch 7 Days to Die.
2. Click "Play Game", then "Connect to Server".
3. Wait for the list to load, then search for your server by name.
4. Click the server, then click "Connect".
5. Enter the password if prompted.
The browser can be slow to load and does not always show every server. Direct Connect always works, so hand out the address as well.
Common Connection Errors
"Connection failed" - the server is offline, or the address was typed without its port. Check the status badge in the panel, then re-copy the Server Address from the Overview tab.
"Version mismatch" - the client and server are on different 7 Days to Die versions. Update the server from the Admin tab (see the update article) - a plain restart does not pull a new build.
"Wrong password" - a Server Password is set. Find it in Settings under Basic; it is stored as a secret, so you may have to set a new one rather than read the old one.
"Server full" - the server is at Maximum Players. Raise Maximum Players in Settings (Basic) and restart, or wait for a slot.
Console players (PS5, Xbox) join through the in-game server browser once crossplay is enabled and Server Visibility is public - they have no direct-connect field, so they cannot use the Server Address. See the crossplay article.
