7DtD Server Not Showing in Browser
Why your server does not appear in the in-game browser, what to check, and the address that always works.
How the Server Browser Works
7 Days to Die's in-game browser is fed by a master list. Your server answers queries on its own port block - the base port your server was assigned, plus the next one - and the platform opens both automatically when the server starts.
It takes a few minutes after a start for a server to appear. If you have just started it, wait before searching.
The browser is slow and does not reliably show every server. Direct Connect always works, and it is what you should hand your players.
Common Causes
Server just started. Give it five minutes. Check the Console tab for "GameServer.LogOn successful" - that is the line that means it registered.
Server Visibility is not 2. In Settings under Basic, Server Visibility must be 2 (public). 1 is friends-only and 0 is unlisted. This is restart-required, so saving it restarts the server for you.
Region or Language do not match the player's filter. Both are in Settings under Basic. A player filtering on Europe will not see a server set to NorthAmericaEast.
Server Name has unusual characters. Plain letters, numbers and spaces are safest.
The server is not actually up. Check the status badge at the top of the page, and the Console tab for errors.
Enable Crossplay does not change how the server appears in the Steam browser - it adds the EOS listing that console and Epic players search. If console players cannot find it, check Server Visibility is public (2) and allow a few minutes after a restart for EOS registration.
Using the Server Address
If the browser will not show it, Direct Connect always works.
Take the "Server Address" row from the Overview tab, Connection Info card - an IP address and a port together, such as 203.0.113.10:28100.
Players use Play Game > Connect to Server > Direct Connect and paste that in. The port must be included; your server is not on 26900.
This is faster for players anyway - there is no list to load and nothing to search.
When to Contact Support
If the server has been up for ten minutes or more, has a plain name, has Server Visibility set to 2, and Direct Connect works but the browser never shows it, that is the master list rather than your server. It usually resolves on its own.
If Direct Connect does not work either, that is a different problem - see Connection Troubleshooting.
When you open a ticket, include your Service ID from the Overview tab, the server name, and roughly when you started it.
