Backup Fails to Create

Check the "Storage Quota (Manual Backups)" card at the top of the Backups page. Manual backups share 30 GB per server; when that is full a new one is refused rather than something being deleted to make room. Delete a manual backup you no longer need and try again.

A failed backup shows its reason in the Status column. "Backup incomplete: could not copy ..." means the running game had a file open while the copy was being made. Stop the server and take the backup again — the platform refuses to record a backup that is missing part of your data rather than storing a half one.

The quota applies to your manual backups only, so a full quota never stops the daily automatic backup.

If a scheduled backup fails, the platform notices: a server whose only backup in the last 24 hours is a failed one is retried automatically within about half an hour.

Restore Does Not Complete

Restore validates the archive, takes a safety copy of your current save, stages the new files, swaps them in, and then health-checks the server. This can take several minutes for a large world, and the progress panel shows the job state throughout.

If the server does not come back up, check the Console tab for errors after the restart.

Read which of the two failure states you got. "rolled_back" means the restore stopped before your files were touched — your world is exactly as it was. "failed" means they may have been changed; the safety copy taken at the start of the restore is in your backup list, so restore that to get back to where you started.

Only a backup in the "verified" state can be restored. If Restore is not offered on a row, look at its Status: queued or in-progress means it is not finished yet, failed means there is nothing to restore from.

If neither the restore nor the safety copy works, open a support ticket with the backup ID, the restore job state, and the console output.

Quota Full

The "Storage Quota (Manual Backups)" card shows used against 30 GB, with the remaining figure underneath.

Only manual backups count against it, and only you can remove them — nothing deletes a manual backup for you. Delete the ones you no longer need from the Manual Backups list.

Automatic backups are not in this quota at all. They are kept to the last 7 backups or 7 days, whichever comes first, and are cleaned up on their own, so they are never the reason your quota is full.

If 30 GB is genuinely not enough for your world, open a support ticket — the quota is set per server and can be raised.
