Windrose Plus Gameplay Multipliers Guide
Adjust loot, XP, craft efficiency, cooking speed, and harvest yield multipliers on your Windrose server with Windrose Plus.
Overview
Windrose Plus adds five gameplay multipliers that let you adjust the rates of core game mechanics. All multipliers use 1.0 as the default value (1x = normal). Setting a multiplier to 2.0 doubles the rate, 0.5 halves it.
Multipliers are configured from the Windrose Plus tab in your GameGrid server panel under the "Gameplay Multipliers" section.
Important: Multiplier changes require a server restart to take effect. The changes trigger a PAK rebuild on the server, which modifies the game's packed asset files.
Loot Amount
Loot Amount controls the quantity of items dropped by chests, containers, and enemies. Default: 1.0x. Range: 0.1x to 100x.
Increase for more generous loot drops (useful for servers that want faster progression).
Decrease for a more challenging survival experience with scarcer resources.
Example: Setting loot to 2.0x doubles the number of items in each loot drop. Setting it to 0.5x halves the items.
XP Rate
XP Rate controls how fast players gain experience. Default: 1.0x. Range: 0.1x to 100x.
Increase for faster leveling (useful for servers that want to reach endgame content quickly).
Decrease for slower, more deliberate progression.
Important warning: The Windrose Plus settings catalog warns that once XP rate is raised above 1.0, lowering it may cause character save issues. We recommend choosing your XP rate carefully before players begin leveling. If you need to change it after players have progressed, consider resetting the world or backing up saves first.
Craft Efficiency
Craft Efficiency controls how expensive crafting recipes are. Default: 1.0x. Range: 0.1x to 100x.
Higher values make recipes cheaper (2.0x = half the resource cost). Lower values make recipes more expensive.
Example: Setting craft efficiency to 2.0x means a recipe that normally costs 10 wood now costs 5 wood. Setting it to 0.5x means it costs 20 wood.
This is useful for servers that want faster progression (higher efficiency) or a more grindy survival experience (lower efficiency).
Cooking Speed
Cooking Speed controls the speed of cooking, fermentation, and smelting. Default: 1.0x. Range: 0.1x to 100x.
Increase for faster cooking (useful for servers with high player counts where cooking is a bottleneck).
Decrease for a more realistic, slower cooking experience.
This affects all cooking-related activities including campfire cooking, fermentation stations, and smelting furnaces.
Harvest Yield
Harvest Yield controls the amount of resources gathered from resource nodes (berries, ore, wood, herbs). Default: 1.0x. Range: 0.1x to 100x.
Increase for more resources per gather action (useful for servers that want faster building and crafting).
Decrease for a more challenging survival experience where resources are scarce.
This does not affect the number of resource nodes in the world - only the yield per node per gather action.
Applying Changes
After changing multipliers from the Windrose Plus tab:
1. Press "Save Changes". The panel replies "Configuration saved. Restart the server to apply changes (PAK rebuild required)."
2. Restart the server. The PAK rebuild happens during startup.
3. The server may take longer to start (1 to 3 minutes) while the PAK files are rebuilt.
4. Once online, the new multipliers are active. Use wp.status in the dashboard console to verify.
Warning: High multiplier values (especially loot and harvest) can cause memory issues due to the large number of items in the world. Use moderate values if you are unsure.
