Metrics: Stats Seasons and Wiping Player Stats
How stats seasons work in Metrics: starting a new season to wipe player stats, what resets and what stays, viewing past seasons, and the banner after a world wipe.
What a season is
A season is the stretch of time your player statistics count from. Every server starts in Season 1. Nothing ever resets on its own: wiping the world, updating the game, restoring a backup or moving the server all leave your statistics where they are. A new season starts only when you choose to start one.
Starting a new season
On the Metrics page, open the Settings tab. The Stats seasons card lists your server's seasons. To start a new one, click Wipe stats / start new season. Only the account owner and administrators see this button.
The confirmation tells you exactly what happens:

You can give the season a name if you like. To confirm, type your server's name exactly as it is shown; Start Season stays greyed out until it matches. Nothing is deleted: the old season simply ends at that moment and the new one begins.
A season cannot be undone, so take a moment before you start one. A deactivated server cannot start a new season, but you can still read and download its statistics.
Viewing past seasons
The bar at the top of the Metrics page has a Player stats picker: This season (the default), each earlier season with its dates, and All seasons. It changes the player figures (the Players tab and player profiles). Server history, such as uptime and players online, is never split by season.
After a world wipe
When you wipe your server's world, Metrics shows a banner: "World wiped on 2 Oct. Start a new stats season?" It only offers. Start new season opens the same confirmation as the Settings tab (for the account owner and administrators), and Dismiss hides the banner for that wipe. If you do nothing, your statistics simply carry on in the current season.
Every new season is recorded in your account's audit log.
